Howdy! Well, we've made it into Act 2 today, we're just doing the battle "Enemy at Portside" now. Not a whole lot more to report, the sound effects and lights, etc are great.
Hey what about America Idol, that last girl was fabulous as was the "background singer". Also kudos to Chris Sligh from my hometown: Greenville, SC!
Okay, Photos! One of my sister's new headshots and an old photo circa 1990 of me and pals, Miles Dallas and Robb Alverson in the village at Dew Drop Inn. Those were the days!
Have a great weekend everyone, go see a play, opera or musical!
Cheers!

Hope you're all having a great weekend! I'm still at the theatre "teching". We have made it to "England" and hopefully we'll make it to "Boys'll be Boys" tonight, though I doubt we'll finish that. We really only have two hours left for tonight. I didn't write a blog yesterday and Thur, I put one on "myspace", so I'll have to get that linked up here to this site as well!
Candice had a callback today for "Picasso at the Lapin Agile" at TSS, I hope she gets it, but their opening night is the same as ours!! April 6! We found out our party will be at Cipriani's down on 23rd ( I sang there last year for a "Neil Berg" gig). It's not going to be as big a deal as I had thought, it's just for those who actually worked on the show and we can invite one guest. It'll be a sit down dinner too, which is kind of nice as well.
The weather was a bit better here in NYC today though it's black slush and ice. It's warmer and less windy, at least just for today!
Well, tomorrow I'm back here 1-9 at the Hilton theatre. Oh, I gotta give you some photos: I'm holding a costume worn by THE Judy Garland, our wardrobe assisstant supervisor got off ebay ( he also got some earrings and a brooch), the other I got from my pal Keith Jameson's website.www.keithjameson.com It's from a performance of The Yeomen of the Guard we did with NYGASP at Symphony Space. I Played "Elsie Maynard"Guess that's all for now, stay warm and dry and not BORED!

Happy Valentine's Day!! It's about 8:15 PM, long day of weather here in NYC and tech rehearsal-sets, props, lights, gotta be done! The weather is nasty, I used to love snow in SC! You could stay home and organize your closets!
Poor Aria could barely move this morning for the wind!
A few of us went to Sardi's for dinner ( Ricky Todd, David, Don, Daniel &I) and we saw George Lee Andrews and David Cryer from Phantom there with their gorgeous wives.
That's all my news for today!
Photos are: Me ith Claude-Michel Schonberg, Richard Todd Adams and David Koch, all of The Pirate Queen!
Cheers! KB

Good evening all! We've started our first day of "tech" and as you might guess, it's a little boring for actors because we have to wait around for lighting etc. I've been watching all day and it does look really beautiful is such a great energy to have in this process.

Our dressing rooms are okay, though I do miss having my own. We do have a little more space-privacy though is probably not ever gonna happen.

The photos are not terribly recent but I hadn't shared them previously. At the top is Daniel Torres with me at a shindig at my place and at the bottom are Jessica Grove ,Cady Huffman and I at a party of "Neil Berg" concert folks.

Well, we have about and hour and fifteen minutes left for today and we're back here at 1:00 PM tomorrow. Hope you all have a great Valentine's Day and I'll try and check in with you tomorrow!

Cheers!

Happy Sunday! We finished rehearsals in the studios and we move in to the theatre on Tuesday! The show has come SO far, our run -through yesterday was terrific! Get your tickets soon!
last night Candice and I went to Follies at City Center as a part of the Encores! series. Absolutely lovely. Casey Nicholaw is so smart! Victoria Clark and Donna Murphy shined as did Mimi Hines and Joann Worely. We were able to take advantage of the "VIP" room and as we walked out through the breezeway we saw this poster for the NY G&S Players and took some silly photos. A couple of friends had told me they saw my photo there so we had to check it out! Can you find me??
I also saw Spring Awakening and Mary Poppins this week. Both had some great moments: love the set in Poppins and the kids and Daniel Jenkins and Spring Awakening was quite provocative, not my usual cup of tea, but I could appreciate it. I wouldn't send any kids under 17 to it!Tonight Candice and I watched "Grease, You're the One that I want", it doesn't seem to me they're gonna find any real "stars". But we like Derek for sure and I don't know about the girls: Laura was good tonight and Ashley is fairly consistent, but it seems every single one of them have pitch problems at one time or another and some really try to do things they should not attempt. That's all for now! Happy Birthday Matthew!
